See your usage and cost
haarness stats shows how many tokens you used, what they cost, and which models and tools you
used, across all your projects. haarness insights writes the same figures, plus findings, into
an HTML report. Both read the history on your computer and call no model.
Check the last week
haarness stats --days 7You see totals for tokens, known cost, tool calls and file changes, then a breakdown by project, model and tool.
Narrow it down:
haarness stats --here # this project, all its worktrees
haarness stats --project my-service # a project by name, ID or path
haarness stats --days 30 --json # everything, for your own toolsGet a report
haarness insights --days 7 --openThis prints the same summary, saves an HTML report on your computer and opens it in your browser.
Without --open, it prints the report's path. --output-dir chooses where it goes. Each run
writes a new file; an older report is never replaced.
The report names your projects, chat titles and the files that changed. It never contains your prompts, the agent's answers, tool output or file contents. Check the names before you share it.
In the terminal UI, /stats and /insights take the same options. /insights saves the report on
the computer the terminal UI runs on and copies its path; /insights --open also opens it, except
over SSH.
How it is counted
- Usage comes from what each provider reports for each turn.
--dayscounts turns by when they started, so a long turn belongs to the day it began.- Archived chats and the subagents a chat started count too. Undoing a change does not remove what it cost.
- Cost covers the models Haarness has prices for. Usage it cannot price is counted separately rather than guessed.
What does Haarness share with Haarness Cloud?
A daily summary of counts like these, unless you turn it off. It is on from the first launch and
needs no sign-in: a running Haarness server sends it about every six hours, including the server
that the terminal UI, Desktop and haarness run start.
The summary counts chats, turns, tokens, tool calls and file changes for each of the last seven days, per built-in model and tool, with the app version, your operating system and a random ID for this installation. It never contains prompts, answers, code, file names or paths. While you are signed in to Haarness Cloud it is linked to your account; otherwise it is anonymous. Usage statistics lists every field and how long Haarness Cloud keeps it.

haarness telemetry status # on or off, and when it was last sent
haarness telemetry preview # the summary, exactly as it would be sent nowIn the terminal UI, /usage-statistics → Show what is shared shows the same. In Desktop it is
Settings → General → Share usage statistics → See what's shared.
Turn it off
Any one of these:
- Terminal UI:
/usage-statistics→ Stop sharing usage statistics. - Desktop: turn off Settings → General → Share usage statistics.
- Command line:
haarness telemetry off.haarness telemetry onturns it back on. - Environment:
HAARNESS_TELEMETRY=0, orDO_NOT_TRACK=1, where Haarness starts. Use this in CI and scripts. The environment wins over the setting.
The setting applies to every project on this computer. A project's configuration cannot turn it on or off for you.
