# Delete your Haarness account

You can delete your Haarness account yourself at any time: on the web at [haarness.ai](https://haarness.ai), in
Haarness for Android or in Haarness for iPhone. It is one account for Haarness Cloud, the phone apps, Desktop and the
CLI, so deleting it in one place deletes it everywhere. It happens at once and cannot be undone.

Only want to stop paying? [Cancel your plan](https://haarness.ai/docs/cloud/resets-and-cancellation.md#cancel) instead: your workspaces,
files and purchased credits are kept.

## Delete it on the web

1. Sign in at [haarness.ai](https://haarness.ai) and open **Settings → Your data**.
2. Under **Danger zone**, choose **Delete account**.
3. Read what will be deleted. Type what the page asks for, your email address or `DELETE`, and, if you use
two-factor authentication, a code from your authenticator app or a recovery code.
4. Choose **Delete account**. You are signed out everywhere.

## Delete it in Haarness for Android or iPhone

1. Tap your avatar at the top of a page to open your profile.
2. Tap **Delete account**, under **Sign out**.
3. Read what will be deleted. Type what the app asks for, your email address or `DELETE`, and, if you use two-factor
   authentication, a code.
4. Tap **Delete account**. The app signs out.

An app signed in with an API key shows no **Delete account**, since the account was made elsewhere: delete it on the
web.

## Can't sign in?

- **Forgot your password:** choose **Continue with email** on the sign-in page. Haarness emails you a sign-in link
and a code, with or without a password. See
[Sign in with an email link or code](https://haarness.ai/docs/cloud/sign-in.md#sign-in-with-an-email-link-or-code).
- **Lost your two-factor phone:** choose **Use a recovery code** when the code is asked for.
- **Still locked out:** email [admin@haarness.ai](mailto:admin@haarness.ai) from your account's email address and
ask us to delete your account. Deleting cannot be undone, so we first confirm that the request comes from you. Then
we delete the account as above and tell you when it is done, within one month.

## Before you delete

- **A team you own alone:** if other people belong to it, you cannot delete your account until the team has another
owner. In **Settings → Team**, make someone else an owner, or remove the other members. The deletion screen names
the team and links there. A team only you belong to is deleted with your account, and teams that others own keep
  going without you.
- **Keep a copy:** download what you need from each workspace's **Files** tab, or push it to its Git repository. See
[Keep a copy of a workspace's files](https://haarness.ai/docs/cloud/workspaces.md#keep-a-copy-of-a-workspaces-files). Your invoices are in
  **Billing → Payments**.
- **Your plan is cancelled at once,** so you are never billed again. The rest of the period you paid for ends with
the account; see [Refunds](https://haarness.ai/docs/cloud/resets-and-cancellation.md#refunds) for when money comes back.
- **Purchased credits are forfeited,** unless a refund applies.

## What is deleted

| What | When |
| --- | --- |
| Sign-ins, devices, API keys and connected computers | At once: every browser, app and CLI is signed out |
| Your plan | Cancelled at once |
| Your name, email address, password, two-factor setup, and Google and Apple sign-ins | At once |
| Cloud workspaces, with their files and chats | At once: machines and disks are erased |
| Usage statistics of your Haarness apps | At once |
| Reports you made of an agent's reply, and reports about your chats | At once |
| Backups and exports of your workspaces | Within 30 days |
| Cloud agents, schedules, projects and routers | They stop at once and are erased within 30 days |
| What you published to the marketplace, and your collections | Gone from the marketplace at once, erased within 30 days |
| Teams only you belong to, with everything in them | Closed at once, erased within 30 days |

People who installed something you published keep their copy. The
[Privacy policy](https://haarness.ai/privacy#how-long-we-keep-it) says how long each kind of data is kept.

Your computers are disconnected from Haarness Cloud, but nothing on them is touched: their chats and projects stay.

## What is kept

- **Invoices, payments and the credit ledger,** for as long as accounting and tax law requires, then deleted.
Stripe, which takes the payments, keeps its own payment records as the law requires.
- **The record that your account was deleted,** and the security log, only as long as needed for security, fraud
  prevention and legal claims.
- **Copies of the emails and notifications we sent you,** for 30 days.

Nobody can sign in to the deleted account again. Signing up later with the same email address starts a new, empty
account.
