# Credits and plans

Haarness Cloud is paid with a plan, plus optional top-ups. Everything is measured in **credits**:
**1,000 credits = $1.00**.

## Choose a plan

Open **Billing** and choose a plan. Each plan includes, every month:

| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | AI credits | Compute hours | Disk | Workspaces running at once |
| --- | ---: | ---: | ---: | ---: | ---: | ---: |
| Pro | $20 | $200 | 8,000 | 40 | 5 GB | 1 |
| Max | $100 | $1,000 | 40,000 | 300 | 20 GB | 3 |
| Ultra | $200 | $2,000 | 75,000 | 800 | 30 GB | 4 |
| Team, per seat | $40 | $400 | 15,000 | 60 | 10 GB | 2 |

The [pricing page](https://haarness.ai/pricing) always shows the current plans. Prices are in US dollars.

- **AI credits** pay for model requests.
- **Compute hours** pay for the time your Cloud workspaces run on the standard machine. Bigger machines use hours
  faster.
- **Disk** is the total size of all your workspaces' disks.
- **Network traffic** is included within fair use: normal development work never runs into it. Only unusually
large transfers beyond it are charged, and only when **Overage** is on.

These are separate allowances shared by your whole account. Unused compute hours do not turn into AI credits, or
the other way round.

### Pay yearly, get two months free

Switch **Billing period** to **Yearly** before you choose a plan. You pay for ten months and get twelve. The
allowances still reset every month: a yearly Pro plan gives you 8,000 AI credits and 40 compute hours each month
for a year. Already on a plan? [Switch between monthly and yearly](https://haarness.ai/docs/cloud/resets-and-cancellation.md#change-your-plan)
in **Manage plan**.

## Try it free

An account that has never had a plan can start a **14-day trial** with **2,000 AI credits**, **5 compute
hours**, 5 GB of disk and one workspace running at a time. Choose **Start free trial** in **Billing** and save a card on the Stripe page. Nothing is charged, and
the trial never turns into a paid plan on its own: when it ends, Cloud stops spending until you choose a plan.
Each account can have one trial, and each card can start one trial, so a new team account needs a card that has
not had a trial yet. The [Terms](https://haarness.ai/terms) also allow one trial per person.

Choosing a plan during the trial ends the trial and starts the plan's first month. If the trial ends without a
plan, your workspaces stop but are kept; a workspace that stays stopped for 30 days, on an account with no plan and no
purchased credits, is deleted with its disk.

## Teams

A team has its own plan, credits and members, separate from your personal account.

1. Open **Settings → Team** and create a team. The account menu now switches between your personal account and
   your teams.
2. With the team selected, open **Billing** and choose **Team** for the number of seats you need (from 2 to 200).
3. Invite people by email from **Settings → Team**. The link works for a week, and they join with the address you
   invited.

Every seat adds its credits and hours to one pool the whole team draws from. Members plus pending invitations can
not exceed the seats; add seats from **Billing → Manage plan**. Owners and admins manage members; billing members
manage the plan and payments; builders work in the team's workspaces; viewers can look.

## Monthly credits and purchased credits

| | Monthly (included) | Purchased (top-up) |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Where they come from | Your plan, every month | A top-up you buy |
| Expire | At the end of each month, and do not roll over | **Never** |
| Pay for models | Yes | Yes, when **Overage** is on |
| Pay for extra compute and disk | Only their own allowance | Yes, when **Overage** is on |

Monthly allowances are always used first. A model costs the same whichever balance pays for it.

## Top up

In **Billing**, choose **Add credits** (it scrolls to **Top up**), pick an amount and choose **Buy credits**:

| Top-up | Credits | Card is charged |
| --- | ---: | ---: |
| $20 | 20,000 | $22.00 |
| $50 | 50,000 | $55.00 |
| $100 | 100,000 | $110.00 |
| $250 | 250,000 | $275.00 |

The extra 10% is a one-time service fee. After that, credits are worth their face value: 20,000 credits buy
exactly $20.00 of usage. Billing shows the fee and the total before you pay.

### Automatic top-ups

So work never stops halfway, **Billing → Automatic top-ups** can buy a pack for you. Choose **Save a card**, pick
the pack under **Buy** and the threshold under **When AI credits fall below** (5,000 credits unless you change it,
and at least 1,000), then choose **Save**. Whenever the AI credits that can pay (this
month's included credits, plus purchased credits) fall below the threshold, your saved card is charged for the
pack, at most three times a day. Turning automatic top-ups on also turns **Overage** on, since purchased credits
only pay with it.

The card charged is your default card on Stripe's billing page, which **Payment methods** in **Billing** opens, so
replacing it there is all it takes.

If a charge is declined, or Stripe refuses it or has not confirmed it within half an hour, automatic top-ups turn
off, Billing says why, and you get an email. While Stripe has not answered, nothing else is charged, so a pack is
never paid twice. Turn automatic top-ups off at any time.

## Overage: may Cloud spend beyond your plan?

**Overage** is a switch in **Billing**.

- **Off:** when a monthly allowance runs out, the work that needs it stops. Model requests are refused, and a
running workspace that uses up its compute hours is stopped. Its files are kept. Nothing more is charged.
- **On:** purchased credits pay for anything beyond your plan, at the published overage rates. Without automatic
top-ups, you are never billed for more than the purchased credits you hold.

You get an email when an allowance is 80% used and another when it runs out. **Billing** estimates, at your pace
over the last 7 days, whether your AI credits last until they reset or how many days they have left. When fewer
than 14 days are left, the sidebar meter shows the count too.

## Your own provider keys

A [router](https://haarness.ai/docs/cloud/models-and-routers.md#routers-choose-who-pays-for-models) can send requests through your own
provider keys instead. Those requests cost no credits: your provider bills you directly. They still need an active
plan or the trial.

## Limit what a key can spend

Each [API key](https://haarness.ai/docs/cloud/cli-and-sdk.md#create-an-api-key) can have its own **Monthly spending cap (credits)**, a
**Maximum credits per request** and rate limits. A key that reaches its cap stops working until the next month, and
the rest of your account keeps going.

## See where your credits went

Everything is in **Billing**:

| Tab | Shows |
| --- | --- |
| **Overview** | Your plan, each balance, when monthly allowances reset, and how long your credits last at your pace |
| **Usage** | One row per model request or compute period: when, which model or workspace, how much, and which balance paid |
| **Ledger** | Every credit added and spent, line by line |
| **Payments** | Your invoices and receipts, including automatic top-ups |

A balance can dip briefly while a request runs. Cloud sets aside the most a request could cost, then keeps only
the real cost once it finishes. The set-aside amount is shown as **Held in reservations**.

From the terminal:

```sh
haarness account --billing
```
